During your first week at Swansea College the have the choice to go to a fresher’s fayre and get involved in exercises which will help you settle in and get to know new people.
Tutor
You are assigned a course tutor who is there to help you if you need help with your course or if you just want to talk. They can also help you sort out the grades you want or need for further education and help you get there.
Student advisor team
There are a team of student advisors who are there if you need any advice or even have any personal problems that you need help sorting out. Their impartial, professional advice is designed to meet your needs.
Careers advisor
At Swansea College there are three careers advisors available if you need to talk about your future or if you just simply need your options sorted out.
Counselling
Professional counsellors are available for a chat if you need someone to listen to your problems. Your can organise a private session or ring the team if that would suit you better. The counsellors are:

Financing
EMA
Educations Maintenance Allowance
For students who have just left school and who want to go into further education as long as you are under the age of 19 you can get EMA. This is £10, £20, or £30 depending on your financial situation, paid every two weeks. If your attendance is good at college you can also get £100 bonuses.
ALG
Assembly learning grant
Students over the age of 18 are able to have ALG this is a small grant which can help you get through any extra costs that your course might have.
Student union- NUS discounts
You can also get involved with the students union this communicate the students to the college. Students are able to get involved and have their voice heard. Activities involve setting up clubs and organising events.
Transport
Bus passes are available for those who live more than a mile from the college, you can get you pass by completing a simple application form.
